By Popular Request - Al Bhed Translator Downloadable
The number #1 request I've recieved over the years is a downloadable version of the translator. After taking some classes on windows programming I got to work with all I learned and have come up with the AlBhed Translator v0.5. This initial version supports the normal translating capabilities that the previous web and browser version contained. Added on to this standalone version are file saving and loading capabilities. There is no help file in this version and is planned for the final version.

NEW EDITION - Mozilla Extension -- Jul 24 2004 10:15pm
Thats right after a long time there is a brand new edition of the Al Bhed translator. The Al Bhed Translator Extension for Mozilla FireFox, Thundbird and the plain old Mozilla/Netscape 7. This one you can have with you anywhere on the web. You dont have to visit this site anymore to have al bhed translations at your fingertips. As long as you use Mozilla Firefox or Mozilla as your Web Browser. Also if you use Mozilla Thunderbird email you can use it to send emails in al bhed.

Version 0.1 is a barebones extension. It is a simple pop-up dialog that works exactly like the Al Bhed JavaScript Edition (uses they same exact javascript code). I'm planning for future versions to include context-menus so you can highlight text and automatically translate it. I'm also planning full email encoder/decoder for the Thunderbird edition.

Server Switch -- Feb 23 2004 06:45pm
This site may down for a bit, I am currently switching to a new server where I run the DNS myself. It's my first time setting up a Name Server so it may be down for a few days. My apologies. It should be up and running stably march.

Javascript Version Updated. Now has Pronunciations-- Sep 15 2003 3:55pm
After popular demand and some idle time on my hands at work I added pronunciations to the javascript version. Also while doing it I rewrote the javascript functions so they would run faster for those of you with slower machines. Also with the new versions of the functions the code for both Javascript and PHP is nearly identical. I will be updating the main Al Bhed translator to support pronunciations soon. --- UPDATE: well 30 minutes later and now the main translator has been upgraded to version 2.0. Enjoy

New Javascript Version-- Jan 20 2003 8:55am
There is now a Javascript version of the Al Bhed Translator. Click Here to check it out. (note you can use more then one word in the brackets now.)

First Reported Use-- Sep 6 2002 11:16am
Go check out - http://www.authorisedcollection.com/ . They have an Al Bhed Translator up there based on my functions.

Change In PHP Functions-- Jun 24 2002 3:57pm
After getting an email from someone using the code I realized my own stupidity have changed the PHP code of the functions to output directly and not set some stupid variable. So now you can just do <? echo e_to_ab($string) ?> ; and it will be fine and dandy. The version has been updated to 1.1 .

New Feature-- Apr 21 2002 10:11am
Al Bhed Transtlator Lite. This is just a striped down version that is only a small window. Click the link and check it out.

Clarification -- Jan 30 2002 10:50pm
There seems to be some confusion on stopping names from being translated. Please read the instructions on the side of the input box. To stop names from being translated please put <# #> around the word. ie <#Rikku#>. This will not be translated.

PHP Functions now finished -- Jan 30 2002 6:24pm
You can now download the functions that run the translator. Please go to the Ab Trans download page to get them

Version 1.1 is now up. -- Jan 29 2002 12:16am
Few minor layout changes. Added feature to hide help. Note: This is version 1.1 of the online interface and not the functions.

Version 1.0 -- Jan 28 2002 10:30pm
Test it out here. Thanks to enigmaopoeia who wrote the well wonderful Al Bhed translator FAQ that can be found on Gamefaqs. Her faq supplied me with an easy to reference translation tables .

The Al Bhed translator provides an easy way of translating to and from English. It also supports tags to stop certain words from being translated. Like in the the case of names.

Features coming soon. (as in the next few days)
Usable php include page to add the functions to a php forum. ie Phorum
